SFRSD
Syrian Foundation for Research and Sustainable Development
Work fields
We work at the intersection of culture, community, and livelihoods, delivering practical, community-driven initiatives that strengthen local capacities, stimulate economic activity, and support sustainable development.
Cultural Economy
In SFRSD we design and implement small-scale cultural initiatives that activate local creativity, preserve cultural values, and transform cultural capital into economic opportunity. Our approach links human resources with cultural assets to generate sustainable, locally rooted growth.
Governance & Community Participation
We strengthen local governance by building the capacities of communities and civil society organizations. Through advocacy, networking, and community-led campaigns, we enable inclusive decision-making and promote sustainable economic and social development.
Livelihoods & Economic Empowerment
We work to reduce unemployment and poverty by supporting income-generating activities for vulnerable individuals. Our programs focus on small-scale projects and women-led enterprises that enhance financial independence and long-term economic resilience.
Agricultural Development
Recognizing agriculture as a core economic pillar in northeastern Syria, we support farmers through guidance, training, and direct assistance. Our initiatives improve agricultural governance, strengthen farmers’ skills, and provide tailored technical and vocational support to increase productivity and sustainability.
